The scam is not that you have given her your address, which is probably available from a number of different databases. The scam, as mentioned in the message right above yours, is that the check will be too large and she will ask you to pay back the "excess". If you do send this money, the check itself will bounce in a couple of days and the deposit will be reversed as if it had never existed. Any money you were to send her it is real, however, and you would never get it back. It's a very old scam that predates the internet. Throw away the check, and ignore all communication going forward. Provided you haven't transferred any money, you will be fine.

Hi, guys. This Dennis shore has sent me the same document a few weeks ago. I was excited to have my first direct client, finally! I sent him my CV (so he has all my personal information, I'm from Argentina) and the bank account in USA where I receive payments. He was willing to make the transfer (USD 600), but when I googled his phone number I found this and I told him that the project was cancelled. I received a message on LinkedIn from a paralegal at a Law Firm (supposedly). I looked up the website, seemed legit and the email I was asked to forward my resume to was there. After I sent my resume I received a request to translate this same document, from Spanish to English. I knew the title seemed familiar because I had received this before. What a disappointment.

Got the job request and the document. Put it through my CAT and it appeared almost translated. Told the person and then I began remembering that my bank in the US would not accept the check. They sent me to another bank and was told by the manager there that these guys were notorious. Watch out. They always want to send you a Check. No PayPal. Will send you a bigger check than what is owed to you.
It is a SCAM.

What I found most suspicious is that her name displayed before her gmail address is misspelled, it says Elzabeth, without the "i". Anyways, be alert in case this woman strikes again.

No client has ever told me to get back to them asap or asked for my cell phone without a reason, so I thought I'd run the document through Google and tadah, here we are.
