Can anyone explain the following Verify error?
Verify expects Test Drive to be translated as "prøvekjøring", which does appear in the translation. Still it recognise it as an error. The result is a lot of false positives.
My version of Trados Studio is the latest, 2024.
When that's said, I must confess the Verify function does not work very well. If the segment has the word "customer" for instance, Verify protests that it cannot find the translation of "customise", which is plain foolishness. It, therefore, seems there is a lot of room for improvement of the Verify function. As it is it seems other CAT tools like memoQ has a much better quality assurance function than Trados Studio these days.

Hi Roy,
If you frequently encounter issues with Verify not recognizing certain translations, try adding variants of the problematic terms to your termbase. Go to Project Settings > Verification > QA Checker and look for options related to term verification. You might need to tweak these settings to reduce the sensitivity or add exceptions if possible.
OR
As you mentioned, memoQ has more refined QA functions, so if Verify in Trados continues to be problematic, you might consider running the file through memoQ or another QA tool for final checks.
Please don't forget to post which one of the above would work!

Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will try that, for instance adding "customise" since it misreads "customer". But it does not explain why it cannot find "Test Drive" = "prøvekjøring" when that's exactly what the translation says. If it had suggested "Test Drive" = "Prøvekjøring", I could understand the error, but not now.
