AI-driven translation tools are becoming increasingly popular, with some claiming they can outperform human translators in certain scenarios. However, how reliable are these systems really? Are they a help or hindrance to professional translators?

From my experience, I’ve noticed that while AI-powered translation tools can handle repetitive tasks like terminology matching, they still struggle with context, tone, and cultural nuances. This brings up an interesting debate: Can AI computers, in their current form, ever truly replace the nuanced work of human translators, especially for high-stakes documents in legal, medical, or literary translation?

This has already been debated to death over the last couple of years. Search the forums for previous discussions and you will find plenty of thoughts about the issues you raise, expressing a wide range of viewpoints.

I doubt many people will be interested in opening this particular can of worms again now (although I may be wrong).
